Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday
The Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday in Florida is a vital initiative aimed at helping residents gear up for the hurricane season, which officially begins June 1st
This year, we have 2 sales tax holidays, June 1st -14th and August 24th -September 6th. During this period, consumers can purchase a wide range of essential disaster preparedness supplies without paying sales tax, offering substantial savings and encouraging proactive measures.
The tax holiday not only provides financial relief but also raises awareness about the importance of being prepared for natural disasters. It highlights the state’s commitment to safety and readiness, encouraging residents to stock up on necessary supplies well before a storm threatens and helps to mitigate the chaos and rush often associated with last-minute preparations.
For more information on how to prepare, and what supplies you need, see Hurricane Season Preparedness.
